Amiens, city of history …

Educate, enrich

The city is visited by innumerable tourists, all of whom come to admire the “must-see » spots, such as the cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Jules Verne House, the Saint-Leu neighborhood surrounded by water, the canals of the Somme, and of course the Hortillonnages, the floating gardens that already existed in the Roman era.

Amiens Métropole figures among the urban areas with the most expansive green space. Chosen as the « most sporting town in France » by the daily sports newspaper L’Equipe, the capital of Picardy has many sports facilities including the Stadium of La Licorne, which currently houses the Lens football team, two golf courses, a Palais des Sports and the Coliseum, which includes two skating rinks, a hockey rink for the Gothic hockey team, an Olympic swimming pool and leisure pools. Amiens also claims the Spartans, an American football club, champion of France on several occasions.

If you want to explore Picardy, which would be a great idea, the website of the Regional Tourist Board will satisfy all your expectations.
